Young Charioteers Review Part 2

Hahahaha ok I know my part 1 review became a Lin Xia Wei post so know I will continue.

This drama is the first time Him Law became the male lead and Sisley the female lead.

Trying not to give Lin Xia Wei the spotlight again, but she is my fav character in the drama ( obviously ) haha, but I find that Sammy did a good job too. From riches to rags and finally to 'riches' again, Fighting been through alot of ups and downs and finally met his 'BFF' again.Being a very cool character, he did quite a good job, but he should be given a less cool character sometimes, he is always too cool. But acting wise, he have improved

As for Jedi leh, he was rather enjoyable, a very honest and down to earth guy, rather funny and amusing, acting wise, Him did a good job.

Then we come to the Moon, this is sisley's second drama and she is already the lead, really? I think she was rather annoying in the drama, her acting not up to par, hence the limelight got stolen by Hillary and Lam Lam, reading other comments about YC, alot also agreed that Hillary and Lam Lam stole the show, and that Sisley was rather annoying. Alot of people pointed out that her dressing is too off for a accounting firm, well true but lets get back to character wise, Moon is a very innocent girl , daughter of a rich guy, yet she is humble, but she always gets into trouble, I think other than Sisley there is no other person that can act as a immature girl, but Sisley needs to stop shouting her lines and laughing so weirdly.

Lam Lam, another spotlight stealer haha, she was good at the role. Lam Lam  was very out of the offic e politics and cared more about friendship and love, she was in a relationship with Jedi, but did not work out, then later gets into a relationship with Ted. I think other than HillaryXMucci , this couple is another cute one. Alan did great at acting as a immature guy, who cared about games and models and eventually screwed up BIG TIME, then later changes, rather amusing and funny.

Yi Ge, quite good, but didnt really have an ending, thats sad, he should have one, Yi ge is the most senior out of the 3, and the smartest also, helped them alot too, Adrain did quite good at the 'big brother' thing.

Lastly, Mucci and Vivian, what else can we get from Michelle Yim, a veteran actress and a good one too, she was very good at being the mother in the office, trying to protect and befriend everyone, yet not getting into any trouble. And Mucci, totally very funny, love his role and singlish :):):):)

So the result .......................

3.5/5   Would be better if the ending was more detailed and if Hillary was given more screen time

Thanks worth to watch, esp LXW

Young Charioteers Review

Other than liking animes, I also love to watch Hong Kong dramas, especially Triumph in The Skies, by far my favourite drama.

However, I will be doing a drama review on the drama Young Charioteers, or also know as 冲线

Cast : Him Law , Sammy Sum ,  Sisley Choi, Rosina Lam , Hanjin Tan, Jinny Ng , Adrian Chau , Alan Wan

So first the storyline:

Sharing a love for road bicycle racing, Yau Tat (Him Law) and Ip Fai Ting (Sammy Sum) were close friends in high school. The two lost contact after Ting returned to Taiwan to settle a family matter, but they met again years later at an accounting firm they both work for. Their superior Ning Hei (Rosina Lin) is exceptional at manipulating office politics and comes in between Tat and Ting’s friendship.
Fortunately, Tat has the secretary Wu Sam Lam (Jinny Ng) to confide to, and Tat’s mother Lee Wai Wan (Michelle Yim), also want the two to become a couple. However, Tat is emotionally wary due to family baggage, and he is unable to love Lam in the same way she loves him.
Tat finds the heart to love again after meeting accountant Yeung Kwong (Sisley Choi), one of Ting’s closest childhood friends. Not wanting to come in between Kwong and Ting, and stressed by work, Tat starts to lose his direction in life. Tat and Tai then decide to let go of all inhibitions and head back to the racing field, where they mend their broken friendship.
got this from jaynestars.com

Ok so it just seems like a normal love idol drama around bicycles right? Well... partly, however this drama also touches alot on office politics, which is a scary thing. Hillary ( by far my fav character ) always love to play office politics and tries her best to get promoted, in the drama, we see how she partly uses Mucci to climb up to a manager position and later dump him.

Wait

Very evil right? Lin Xia Wei or Rosina Lam, I find  she did a very good job at this role this time, just acted this character perfectly, when she is in the office, she treats everyone very coldly, plays office politics, however as the story progresses, we see that she is a person that treats her 'sisters' , Lam Lam and Chu Chu  very well, although she is very bossy and always scolds them , she trust them alot and tries her best to satisfy their needs. We also find out that she actually was in a relationship with Jedi's older brother , Danny that passed away, and bears grudges on Jedi and Vivian, although she no longer have the 'feel' for him, she still havent let go of him and hence cannot get into a relationship yet, hence she is very cool towards Mucci.

After a huge twist when she almost gets fired and promises Vivian not to pick on Jedi anymore, and when she finds out that she was betrayed by her 'sister' Chu Chu, she changes finds out that she still loves Mucci, she wants to get back together with him, but doesnt dare to as she know that she hurt him. She changes after hearing Lam Lam's advice and became a better person (YAYY)

OK lets make this a Rosina Lam post hahahaha sorry for misleading you.

Lets get back ... Hillary later becomes a better person, and even helped Ted, a guy that screwed up BIG time who happens to be Jedi's BFF to complete the cycling competition at the end. Hold On a sec, didnt Hillary hate Jedi? This shows how much Hillary changed, she let go of her grudge of Danny and even helped Jedi which is a 180 degrees change, Hillary then goes to taiwan to help Mucci finish the competition and later gets back together with him when she challenges him to find out when she first cried.

Technically, ever since her first drama, I found that Rosina not a newbie, she was very pretty and could act, however, it is still not up to the fandans standard, there was still something lacking. In the drama Outbound Love, she was Chun Chun, I found her quite cute and funny, but I couldnt see her really sad and devastated. In the other drama Hidden Dragon of Cold Mountain, she was abit of a tomboy character, but she was still lovesick and I did not really notice her, her acting was much better than Candy Chu, but still not there. However, I really have to praise her for this character, Hillary is a character that is tough on the outside but soft on the inside, as she is always fighting in the office, she have to put on a strong front, when she is back at home, she have to put on a strong front in front of Lam Lam and Chu Chu. But we see the different side of her when we find out about her and Danny, and when she finds out that Chu Chu betrayed her, finally I found a character that drew me into the drama, the drama is nothing special but its Hillary that shone in the drama. In the Chu Chu betrayed her scence , I found out that Rosina could really act and I even almost cried. No longer Raymond Lams cousin, but Rosina Lam !!

Jia You Lin Xia Wei !!!
